Burma opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi is flying to Hawaii to accept a peace award. The lawmaker and Nobel Peace laureate will deliver an address at the Rotary Global Peace Forum meeting in Honolulu and accept an award lauding her commitment to nonviolent activism and human rights. The trip will be her first to the American island state. Rotary is a global humanitarian organization with more than 1.2 million members. Suu Kyi flew out of Burma’s main city of Rangoon on Thursday. She is also due to visit South Korea to attend the opening ceremony of the 2013 Special Olympics.—AP
