A Thai university has awarded an honorary doctorate to Burmese President Thein Sein, according to the President’s Office website. Thein Sein accepted the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Technology Management from Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University, near Bangkok, at a ceremony held at the Credentials Hall of the Presidential Palace in Naypyidaw on Wednesday evening. Ponlasit Noochoochal, the university’s president, credited the Burmese leader with “conducting [Burma’s] vital reformation in the political, economical and social aspects.”
