Roles and Responsibilities 

Overall work 

  • Promote digital marketing space of Irrawaddy for potential clients to use and generate ad revenue.
  • Ensure all duties and responsibilities assigned by line supervisor is executed in a timely, coordinated, and efficient manner.

Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for client visits, increasing clients base wanting to advertise with Irrawaddy, ad revenue generation activity, and preparing reports required.
  • Prepare sales package and sale pitch
  • Provide analysis to line supervisor regarding the consumer goods and services trends which are being advertised on Irrawaddy website and visited by public on English and Burmese website, FB, and other digital space utilized by Irrawaddy.
  • Every month prepare the monthly report of digital space sold and revenue generated, and available digital marketing space and potential revenue to be generated.

Undertake Digital Marketing 

  • Prepare digital marketing kit in close cooperation with sales person, for approval by relevant supervisors.
  • Visit potential clients along with team members, give presentation on Irrawaddy’s Digital Footprint in Myanmar and Globally, and promote Irrawaddy’s digital marketing kit.
  • In coordination with team members, prepare monthly marketing and sales strategy with the supervisor, and share with Management Team during meetings as and when requested.
  • Provide feedback to supervisor from clients on any concerns or suggestions they have regarding Irrawaddy’s digital marketing.

Monthly Statistics 

Track, store, and provide monthly statistics update and analysis on digital/social media used by Irrawaddy

Qualifications Required

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Digital Marketing.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of integrated social and digital media use and interlinking them for maximum results.
  • Good working knowledge in Digital Media use and ability to increasing advert revenue.
  • Good working knowledge of Google Analytics, FB insights, and Social Marketing Tools.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with all staff concerned vertically and horizontally in the organization.
  • Must have good presentation skills using Power point, social media tools both in English and Burmese.
  • Must possess minimum computer literacy of operating MS Office, Internet, smartphones, and social media tools.
  • Proactive character and initiative with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Burmese.

Qualifications Desired 

  • Previous experience in digital/social media group or digital marketing will be an advantage.

Applicants for this post will be able to express ideas and shape stories concisely for an online readership. At least three years of proven experience in editing news and feature stories in English is required.

They will possess an eye for accuracy, be familiar with working to same-day deadlines, and know how to leverage social media to enhance the reporting process. They will be able to work closely with Burmese and non-Burmese reporters to help develop stories. The ideal candidate will also possess a high level of awareness of Burma’s politics, economy and culture.

The applicant is expected to implement financial policies and procedures, conduct monthly financial analysis to identify and resolve issues, gaps and variances on internal financial management, and provide the line supervisor necessary reports and updates.

She/he is required to provide inputs, clarifications and support to the CEO and or line manager, as and when requested and required.

The applicant is required to supervise and ensure all financial activities are up-to-date and accurately entered by the Accounts staff. Establish, maintain and reconcile General Ledger on Weekly basis, monitor cash balances and cash forecasts providing the supervisor weekly updates. The candidate for the post, will have minimum 5 years of experience in finance and financial management and reporting. Roles and Responsibilities

A. Overall Supervision

  • Implement financial policies and procedures to ensure financial operational efficiency.

C. Financial Administration

  • Supervise and ensure that all financial activities are up-to-date and accurately entered by the Accounts Officer, and Accounts Assistant.
  • Establish, maintain and reconcile General Ledger on Weekly basis, monitor cash balances and cash forecasts providing the supervisor weekly updates.
  • Prepare monthly statements and balance sheets, reconcile bank statements and bank passbooks.
  • Manage cash controls, and ensure Accounts is maintaining up-to-date Book Keeping.
  • Ensure all obligations for purchases and logistical management are upheld and enforced when The Irrawaddy enters into any project contracts with donors.
  • Ensure all in senior management and editorial team are properly informed and updated about such obligations.
  • Ensure all staff identified with any particular projects and donor’s contractual obligations are also aware of the do’s and don’ts associated with the project’s financial implementation.
  • Responsible for annual closing of accounts.
  • Responsible for producing quarterly report, mid-year reports and annual reports for various donors, and preparing Annual P & L Statements.
  • Responsible for supervision, submission and filing of annual taxes for the organization and employees.

D. Liaison with Governmental Offices, Institutions and Ministries

  • Develop and maintain good working relationship with authorities from relevant government departments, institutions and ministries.
  • Keep CEO, and Independent Director informed and updated of any changes in rules, regulations or procedures pertaining to financial issues, staff welfare, labour laws, workplace health and employee accidents procedures, hiring of ex-pat staff, and procedures required to be complied with having financial implications to the monthly and annual spending’s of the company.

E. Qualifications Required

  • Good command of written and spoken English and Burmese
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance and financial management and reporting.
  • Good financial analytical skills, along with being proactive and initiative taker in trouble-shooting financial challenges.
  • Ability to build good working relationship with project team, internal and external partners at all levels.
  • Computer expertise in the use of financial management software’s being used by international organizations operating in Myanmar.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Excel, Internet, Google Calendar, and e-mail, etc. for good financial management.
  • Proactive character and initiative with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
