The Irrawaddy is seeking to hire an experienced Admin & HR Assistant Manager to supervise its admin, logistics, and human resources policies and team, executed in a timely, coordinated, and efficient manner, while based in its head office in Yangon. The position will report to the Director – Operations, and will coordinate with Management Team, under the overall supervision of the Director – Operations.
She/he is required to participate in and contribute to weekly/monthly editorial and management meetings on staff management related matters if requested and required, and perform other activities assigned by line supervisor to keep activities and procedures running smoothly. The position is required to oversee daily office functions, and supervise the administration and logistical staff, as the de-facto Office Manager.
The applicant must be knowledgeable of the local labour laws, social security benefits (SSB) contributions and payments, and tax calculations. The applicant is required to keep Operations – Director informed and updated of any changes in rules and regulations pertaining to staff management.
The applicant must have minimum 3-5 years of work experience in Burma/Myanmar in Admin and/or HR field. Possess good computer literacy, especially in MS Office, and use of social media, and have good command of written and spoken English and Burmese.
Salary range is open to negotiation if candidate is very qualified, and promotion to Admin & HR Manager, after 2 years, if work performance and delivery is excellent.
