The number of automated teller machines in Burma has jumped from none one year ago to 450 ATMs now, while the number of businesses where customers can use international credit and debit cards has risen to 2,500 so called points-of-sales, Bloomberg reports. Mastercard Inc. has set up 285 points-of-sales in Burma and its cards are accepted by about 210 ATMs, while cards of Visa Inc. can be used at 550 businesses and 200 ATMs, the news agency reports. The remaining 1,665 payment machines in Burma accept cards from Union Pay, China’s payment
network.
