Burma’s opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi met with the head of the European Commission in Brussels on Saturday and repeated her insistence that the 2015 elections will not be democratic without constitutional changes, Agence France-Presse reports. “The constitution must be amended,” she said as she met Jose Manuel Barroso in Brussels. “If the constitution is not amended, the 2015 election cannot be free or fair.” According to AFP, Barroso said the 2015 elections “must be credible, transparent and inclusive.” Suu Kyi is meeting European foreign ministers Monday before heading to Luxembourg to pick up the Sakharov human rights prize she won in 1990.
