Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina described the resolution of the maritime boundary dispute with Burma as a milestone in her country’s economic development on Wednesday. Speaking to a reception organized by the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) in Dhaka, Hasina said the outcome would help turn Bangladesh into a middle income nation within a decade. “The resolution opens up the doors of immense potentialities for the present and future generations, while Bangladesh’s businesspeople would immensely benefit from it,” she was quoted by the Gulf Times.
