China-based Huawei Technologies Ltd has said that it doesn’t expect a US intelligence report describing it as a security risk to affect its efforts to win a lucrative telecoms operating license in Burma. “I think in Myanmar, no, no impact,” said Chen Xiao Yong, the director of the public relations department for Huawei in Rangoon, according to a report by The Myanmar Times. A 52-page report published by the US House of Representatives Intelligence Committee calls Huawei a credible security threat because of it lack of transparency and possible ties to China’s Communist Party.
