A US official overseeing policy on North Korea said on Monday that Burma has moved in the right direction in its dealings with Pyongyang, but warned that change won’t come overnight. “I think that Burma’s on the right path,” US Special Representative for North Korea Policy Glyn Davies was quoted by Reuters as saying. “They have made a strategic decision to fundamentally alter their relationship with [North Korea],” he said, but added that it would “take some time to work through” the shift due to the long history of ties between the two countries.
