Three new international airlines are planning to start direct flights to Rangoon International Airport by September, Eleven Media reports. Thailand-based Nok Air, Business Air and Singapore-based Tiger Air will launch direct flights to Burma’s biggest city. “Their representatives came to discuss about the direct flights with us but there will be another step which includes negotiation with the Department of Civil Aviation,” Win Ko, general manager of Rangoon International Airport, was quoted as saying. Currently, 22 international airlines fly to Burma, up from 15 last year, Eleven Media said. There are seven local airlines in the country.
