A car crash on Sunday involving well-known Burmese singer Soe Tay has resulted in the death of his wife, while he was seriously injured, government newspaper The New Light of Myanmar reports. The accident happened on the Rangoon-Mandalay Highway near Meikhtila town, Mandalay Division. The vehicle, driven by Than Wing Hlaing, 32, blew a tire, skidded out of control, crashed through a fence and then fell 5 meters. Soe Tay, 23, is receiving treatment at Mandalay Hospital for life-threatening head injuries. His wife Chaw Chaw, 22, died before reaching the hospital. The driver and another passenger, Sabei Mon, 18, sustained minor injuries.
