Thai police arrested a woman in the southern city of Ranong on Monday for allegedly luring 13 Burmese women, including a 16-year-old and three girls under 18, into sex work. According to The Nation, a Bangkok-based daily, Chonthipaporn Palosilpa, 32, was nabbed at DD Guesthouse, where she was accused of procuring a girl under 15 and others under 18 for prostitution and molestation. She also faces charges of illegally harboring aliens. The arrest follows an investigation by Thailand’s Anti-Human Trafficking Division, which had been tipped off by the Freeland Foundation, an international anti-trafficking organization.
