A Burmese man measuring 8 feet 4 inches (254 cm) is hoping to win recognition as the world’s tallest person, according to a report by the Narinjara news agency. Win Zaw Oo, 36, was not known outside his remote village of Hton Pauk Chai in Natmauk Township, Magwe Division, until recently, when local media became aware of his existence. He is believed to be the tallest person in the country, and could even unseat 8-foot-3-inch Sultan Kösen of Turkey as the tallest man in the world if his height is confirmed by the Guinness Books of World Records.
