Kanbawza Football Club has announced that it will relocate from Taunggyi in Shan State to Rangoon for the next Myanmar National League season, Democratic Voice of Burma (DVB) reports. “The Myanmar Football Federation will assign us a new ground—we are looking to base in Rangoon,” manager Khin Maung Latt was quoted saying. The club is part of well connected-Burmese tycoon Aung Ko Win’s business empire, which also includes the Kanbawza Bank, an insurance company and airlines. Kanbawza FC will abandon the Taunggyi Stadium, despite having leased it from the state government for 30 years in 2011, DVB said.
