The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) began a three-day workshop on treating war wounds in Kengtung, Shan State, on Thursday. According to a press release, two ICRC surgeons highly experienced in treating people with weapon-related injuries are leading the workshop, while more than 30 medical personnel, including surgeons, from across the state are attending. “This workshop will provide an opportunity for Myanmar health professionals and the ICRC to share their knowledge, experience, and best practices,” said Bart Vermeiren, deputy head of the ICRC’s delegation in Burma. A similar workshop will also be held in Kachin State next month.
