After a spate of recent robberies at gold and jewelry shops, the Myanmar Gold Entrepreneurs Association is seeking permission from the Ministry of Home Affairs to introduce extra safety measures, reports DVB. “We are looking to equip gold shops with non-lethal weapons to defend themselves,” said Kyaw Win, the association’s secretary.
