Police in western Burma’s Arakan State are questioning 11 Chinese nationals over the unexplained death of a Chinese worker for the Shwe gas pipeline project, Eleven Media reported Saturday. Eleven Media said the deceased, identified only as Mr. Lu, went missing from his home on the night of Sept. 2 and his body was discovered three days later in a river in Kyauk Phyu District. Police told Eleven Media that blood was discovered on Lu’s bed after he went missing. Eleven Chinese staff on the gas project were detained last Wednesday for questioning over the death, Eleven Media said.
