Canada’s International Trade Minister Ed Fast is traveling to Burma this week as part of a trade mission to Southeast Asia, according to Toronto-based Postmedia News. “With one in five Canadian jobs generated by trade, helping Canadian companies expand and succeed in exciting, high-growth markets is a key part of Canada’s Economic Action Plan,” Fast said in a statement on Sunday. In mid-July, Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird, who traveled to Burma in March, announced Canada’s plans to open an embassy in the Southeast Asian country amid growing interest in investment opportunities there.
