Strand Hotels International, a Hong Kong-based company, will soon start renovating three of its prestigious establishments in Burma, reports the Myanmar Times. The Strand Hotel in Rangoon is one of the city’s most iconic colonial-era buildings. Yu Yu Win, group financial controller and administrative manager of Myanmar Hotels International, told the newspaper that work should be completed in time for the coming winter peak tourist season. The company’s second property in the former capital, the teak-built Inya Lake Palace Hotel, will have the hotel main lobby and wedding hall refurbished with more rooms added.
