Burma’s men’s football team beat East Timor 3-1 at Rangoon’s Thuwanna Stadium on Monday night, as the team’s winning start to the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) football competition continues. According to a report on the official website of the 27th SEA Games, “the game was much closer than the score-line might suggest. Tied at 1 after a riveting first half, a foolish Timor-Leste [East Timor] penalty in the second half put Myanmar [Burma] up 2-1 and knocked Timor-Leste on its heels. Myanmar quickly sealed the match with a third goal.” Also on Monday, Indonesia’s men beat Cambodia 1-0.
