Burma’s military chief met with China’s ambassador to Burma on Wednesday to discuss improving military relations between the two countries, the New Light of Myanmar reported on Thursday. Vice Snr-Gen Min Aung Hlaing, commander-in-chief of Burma’s Defense Services, talked with Ambassador Yang Houlan in Naypyidaw about enhancing army ties between the two countries, improving border security, and cooperating to combat drug trafficking and smuggling. Other Burmese military leaders at the meeting included the deputy commander-in-chief of Defense Services, the chief commanders of the Navy and Air Force, and top Army officials, the state-run newspaper said.
