About 200 homes have been destroyed after a fire broke out in Mandalay Division early on Friday morning, Eleven Media reported. The fire in East Chipar, Chanmyathazi Township, started at about 2 am and was extinguished two hours later after destroying properties on about seven acres. Authorities were investigating to determine where and how the blaze began. Also on Friday morning, a fire in Pyigyitagon Township destroyed nine homes when it broke out at about 5:45 am but was extinguished in a half hour, the news agency reported.
