Around a third of the names on a government blacklist of enemies of the state have been removed, according to a report by the state-run New Light of Myanmar. Noting that in the past, “companies and persons from all fields including media men were blacklisted and banned by the government in the national interest,” the government mouthpiece said that 2,082 names have been taken off the blacklist following a recent review. However, 4,083 people remain on the list, according to the report. Those no longer on the list are now free to return to Burma, it added.
