The 25th meeting of a high-level task force on economic integration in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) kicked off in Rangoon on Tuesday, reports Xinhua. The talks were held as part of preparations for the formation of an Asean Economic Community (AEC) in 2015. “We discussed mainly on efforts to establish the AEC by 2015 and to access in developing the AEC vision and mission beyond 2015 that will chart our future work,” said Dr. San Lwin, Burma’s deputy minister of national planning and economic development. The AEC will transform the 10-nation regional grouping into a single market and production base in which there is free flow of goods, services, investments, skilled labor as well as capital.
