Police in two townships in Arakan State have arrested at least a dozen people in connection with the suspected murders of two young girls found dead earlier this week, reports Narinjara. In Pauktaw Township, five people from the village of Soe Mae Kyi were taken into custody after a five-year-old girl named Zalattwa was found dead on Nov. 17. In Kyauktaw Township, another seven people were arrested in connection with the suspected murder on Nov. 18 of six-year-old Mi Mi Nge. In the case of Mi Mi Nge, police arrested four ethnic Arakanese from her home village of Kyar Nyo Byint, as well as three residents of a nearby Muslim village.
