Dear Readers,

Funding cuts and grant terminations from donors now threaten our journalists’ safety and livelihoods as they risk their lives covering Myanmar’s armed conflict, junta atrocities, online scams and geopolitical issues, while also promoting human rights and helping to restore democracy.

This crisis benefits Myanmar war criminal Min Aung Hlaing and emboldens those who seek to suppress a free press. Still, our 65-member team remains dedicated to fearless and ethical reporting.
