Thai police have arrested a man with joint French-Portuguese citizenship who is wanted by authorities in France on suspicion of attempting to smuggle hundreds of kilograms of cocaine. Thailand’s immigration police division says Avelino de Jesus was arrested on Sunday as he tried to cross the border from Thailand into Laos. It said in a statement on Monday that France issued an international arrest warrant for de Jesus after he and several accomplices unsuccessfully tried to smuggle 305 kg of cocaine into France. It said De Jesus entered Thailand last November on a Portuguese passport.—AP
