Philippine officials said army troops and communist guerrillas have clashed in two provinces in fighting that killed 10 rebels, soldiers and villagers. Army Maj Angelo Guzman said an undetermined number of New People’s Army guerrillas clashed with soldiers on Sunday in a remote community in Labo town in Camarines Norte Province, southeast of Manila. Four soldiers, three rebels and one villager were killed. Army Col Generoso Bolina said soldiers killed two female guerrillas in a separate clash on Sunday in a farming village in Lopez town in nearby Quezon province.—AP
