Pakistan Party Appeals for Rohingya Aid
26 July 2012
Pakistani Islamic party Jamat-e-Islami appealed to foreign diplomats in Karachi, including those of Muslim countries, to use their influence to stop the plight of Rohingya Muslim in Burma. Party spokesman Sarfaraz told Pakistan-based The News that it was amazing that not a single country had come forward to rescue victims despite a call by the UN for peaceful solution to the crisis. They would appeal for governments to take efforts to stop human rights violations, he added. Sarfaraz asked when the Islamic world became so callous that they remained undeterred by the condition of fellow Muslims.
