Police in Mandalay apprehended one of three armed men who robbed a gold and jewelry shop Tuesday, Chinese state media reports, quoting local media. Xinhua said in a report said the masked men entered Maung Kein Gold and Jewelry Shop, firing shots with a pistol, and smashing and emptying showcases. “[The robber] left the shop and continued to fire shots on the street but was engaged in fight,” Xinhua said, adding that the robber was knocked unconscious by a blow to the head and was arrested. “The two other robbers escaped, the report said, adding that investigation is underway into the robbery case,” Xinhua reported.
