NLD to Get 60 Percent of Vote: Poll

1 April 2012

A pre-election poll has found that 60 percent of respondents planned to vote for pro-democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi’s National League for Democracy (NLD). The survey conducted by the Community Response Group in Rangoon involved 362 people, of whom 56 percent were men and 44 percent were women. Asked which party they believed would win the election, 58 percent said the NLD, 31 percent said the ruling Union Solidarity and Development Party, one percent said the National Unity Party; and 10 percent did not respond.
