Malaysian election observers praised Burma’s historic by-elections on Sunday by saying officials were “accommodative and cooperative,” claims Bernama news agency. Dr. Ahmad Faisal Muhamad, the Malaysian ambassador to Burma and one of the invited observers, said the military-dominated nation had shown a clear commitment to ensuring the ballot was conducted fairly and transparently. Malaysian observers, comprised of two MPs, and Election Commission official, three representatives from the Malaysian Embassy in Burma and media personnel, visited seven polling stations in the three constituencies of Hlega, Mayangon and Mingala Taungnyunt.
