The Myanmar Journalists Network (MJN) has sent a letter of complaint to Maj-Gen Zaw Win, the director general of Burma’s national police force, over the alleged intimidation of two photojournalists covering protests against the Letpadaung copper mine in Sagaing Division. According to a report by Mizzima, MJN Secretary Myint Kyaw sent the letter to urge disciplinary action against officers accused of forcing the journalists to erase images from their cameras following clashes between villagers and police at a protest camp near the mine site on Nov. 14. State-run media had reported that the incident was part of a conspiracy to discredit the police.
