The disruption of Burma’s Internet could end soon as repair works on an optical fiber cable are scheduled to be completed as early asWednesday, government newspaper The New Light of Myanmar reports. Internet users in Burma have been suffering from slow connections since July 21 when “a fault” occurred to Burma’s connection with the regional submarine communications cable SEA-ME-WE 3 at a site located about 13 km off the coast at Pyapon, Irrawaddy Delta. Workers of Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications have been carrying out repairs near the town, which “are scheduled to complete as early as 31 July,” the newspaper said.
