The commander-in-chief of Burma’s armed forces, Snr-Gen Min Aung Hlaing, is visiting Russia at the invitation of his Russian counterpart, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, according to Myawady News, Burma’s official military newspaper. During the visit, Min Aung Hlaing will hold talks on further cementing friendly relations between the armed forces of the two countries, observe cultural and industrial works in Moscow and St Petersburg, and meet with Burmese military scholarship trainees, the newspaper said. He is accompanied by senior military officers of the Office of Commander-in- Chief (Army), the commander of Northern Command and officials.
