The host of next year’s World Economic Forum on East Asia will be Burma, the executive chairman of the annual event announced on the final day of this year’s gathering in Bangkok. “We accept the invitation and expect great hospitality in Myanmar next year,” said Klaus Shwab, who is also the founder of the annual forum, referring to an invitation made by Burmese Energy Minister Than Htay. Burmese President Thein Sein passed on an invitation to attend this year’s gathering after opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi announced that she would be there.
