Burma will build its first data center in the commercial capital Rangoon by April next year in a joint venture with Japanese electronics giant Hitachi, local media reported on Wednesday. Eleven Media reported the Myanmar Information and Communication Technology Development Company saying plans have been drawn up for the US $10-15 million center and will be put into action soon. The news comes after announcements that Burma will form its own stock exchange before elections to be held in 2015. The stock exchange will be built in co-operation with Japanese firms and the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
