Burmese President Thein Sein and his South Korean counterpart Lee Myung-bak agreed on Tuesday to launch negotiations to forge an investment guarantee pact between the two countries, according to a report by the South Korean Yonhap news agency. The two leaders released the statement on the second day of Thein Sein’s three-day state visit to South Korea. They also agreed to continue cooperation in existing gas development and power plant projects in Burma and work actively together to boost cooperation in energy and resources development, infrastructure and construction.
