Buddhist monks from Burma protested outside the Burmese Embassy in Bangkok on Tuesday to demand an end to the fighting in the country’s northernmost Kachin State, the release of all political prisoners and the right to return to Burma to vote in the 2015 general election, according to Reuters news agency. Burmese President Thein Sein was scheduled to meet members of the Burmese community in Thailand inside the embassy.
