India, Japan and the US are contemplating working together to provide development assistance to Burma and other developing countries, according to a report by Daily News and Analysis, an Indian newspaper. “The idea is at an incipient stage. It will be discussed further in the next round of discussions,” a spokesperson from India’s Ministry of External Affairs said on Tuesday following the conclusion of the third trilateral meeting between senior Indian, US and Japanese officials on Monday. The three countries also discussed the South China Sea and efforts to strengthen maritime security.
