Jade products from Burma will be put on display at the upcoming 9th China-Asean Expo in Nanning, the capital of southern China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, according to a report by China’s official Xinhua news agency. More than 90 companies from Burma will display jade necklaces, bangles, pendants and sculptures, the report said. Rubies and sapphires from Mogok, Mandalay Division, will also be on offer, along with a variety of other goods, such as handicrafts and agricultural products. Official figures show that Burma produced 46,810 tons of jade in 2010-11.
