The Pekon People’s Defense Force, a group of civil resistance fighters from Pekon Township in Shan State operating along the Shan-Kayah border, said they blew up two transmission towers supporting overhead power lines supplying electricity from Loikaw’s Lawpita hydropower plant to military units in Naypyitaw on Aug. 12.
