WASHINGTON—US President Donald Trump said Friday that he and his wife Melania have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, after one of his closest aides was found to have been infected.

The 74-year-old president’s positive test result came as he enters the final stretch of his re-election campaign ahead of the Nov. 3 election.
