The Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok is planning to offer free operations to two Burmese children suffering from heart disease who cannot afford treatment, according to a report by the Myanmar Times. A 24-member team, including five doctors from the hospital, arrived in Rangoon on Oct. 25 to examine 30 children suffering from congenital heart disease who applied to participate in the program. The hospital has already performed 625 operations without charge over the past five years, but this is the first time it is offering free operations to foreign children.
