Thailand’s army wants the country’s government to hold talks with Burma about returning nearly 200,000 refugees living along the two country’s shared border, according to The Bangkok Post. The issue was raised during a meeting last week between Defense Minister Sukumpol Suwanatat and army chief Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha, the newspaper reported. Sukumpol met his Burmese counterpart, Lt-Gen Hla Min, earlier this week during the 6th Asean Defense Ministers’ Meeting in Phnom Penh, but the two did not discuss the fate of the refugees.
