National League for Democracy (NLD) leader Aung San Suu Kyi will meet President Thein Sein on Wednesday for what a party spokesperson described as a very important meeting before the next session of Parliament begins on April 23. Suu Kyi will fly to the capital Naypyidaw, where she and Thein Sein are expected to discuss democratization and the peace process with ethnic armed groups, as well as parliamentary affairs. A meeting between them last August paved the way for the NLD to rejoin electoral politics and collaborate in promoting political reconciliation.—AP
