Four women suffered minor injuries caused by a small explosion that occurred while they were clearing the site of a rally to be attended by National League for Democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi later this week. Mizzima reported that the incident happened on Friday afternoon in Kanmaw, a village in Mergui Township, Tenasserim Division, where the rally will be held on Dec. 23. “The women were making bonfires and clearing the land. A blast occurred at one of the bonfires,” said the local headman. Local police have yet to determine the cause of the explosion.
