Marrybrown Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian restaurant chain, became the first international fast-food company to enter the Burmese market on Friday with the opening of an outlet in Rangoon. “As the last Golden Land in the region, Myanmar offers good growth prospects and opportunities for us, and we do not want to miss the boat,’’ said the company’s business development manager, Joshua Liew, in an interview with the Malaysian daily The Star. The halal quick service restaurant operator has 380 outlets in Malaysia, China, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Tanzania, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan.
