Fuji Electric Co., a major Japanese maker of electrical and electronic products, announced on Monday that it had opened a branch in Rangoon, reports Japan’s Jiji news agency. The move comes as public infrastructure development is accelerating in Burma, attracting foreign investors, including a growing number from Japan. The company’s new office will collect and analyze market trends for electric appliances and investment plans while building ties with local and Japanese corporations operating there, the report said. The office was set up in July, but only started full-scale operations this month.
