Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived in Burma on Monday for what will likely be his last foreign visit as prime minister, NDTV reports. The two-day trip coincides with the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Summit, a gathering that brings together a regional grouping of seven countries. Leaders are expected to sign agreements to set up a BIMSTEC weather and climate change center in India and a permanent secretariat in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. The regional grouping is also in negotiations for a free trade agreement among the members, but no agreement is yet expected. Singh last visited Burma in 2012.
