A Chinese government delegation arrived at Rangoon International Airport on Sunday, according to the state-run newspaper The New Light of Myanmar. The delegation was led by Xu Zenhuan of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. The visit comes at a time of growing anti-Chinese sentiment in Burma, following the violent crackdown last week on a protest against a Chinese-backed copper mine in northwestern Burma.
